The Catholic schools in the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana have school safety plans and procedures that are reviewed yearly at the diocesan level by certified school safety specialists. The principals of each building facilitate school safety teams that review and implement crisis management plans. The school principal and safety team also share the plans with staff, parents, and community members, including emergency response personnel. The goal of the comprehensive school safety plan for each school is the health, safety, and well-being of all students and staff. The school safety plans include: preparedness, including regular school drills, response and recovery measures. Providing a safe environment for learning is the goal embedded in all diocesan school safety plans and procedures.
