A solid academic curriculum is a hallmark of Catholic education. Catholic school students are challenged with academic rigor, problem-solving that requires deep and significant critical thinking, and opportunities for creative and cooperative expression. While the diocesan curriculum is based on the standards from the Indiana Department of Education, each class is infused with a Catholic world perspective and seen in the light of the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are preparing our students to fill many jobs and solve problems that do not currently exist. To do this our students must have a forward-thinking mindset that is motivated and innovative, be able to use technology as a tool for learning, and can truly appreciate that to serve others with love is to serve God.
Our students are challenged to use their God-given talents to the fullest in order to develop their academic, extracurricular and spiritual gifts. We seek to take the child as they are and develop the whole person, offering an enriching curriculum that includes the arts, humanities and physical education. All of the schools in the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana offer varying resources for students with disabilities, as well as for students who are gifted. Both of the diocesan high schools offer dual credit courses. Central Catholic Jr.-Sr. High School (Lafayette) provides several Advanced Placement courses for its students and Guerin Catholic High School (Noblesville) offers International Baccalaureate (IB) courses and the IB diploma.
